Houston County investigators are asking for your help in solving an attempted murder case that involves the misuse of a deadly agricultural chemical.
Aluminum Phosphide is sold under a variety of trade names including Phostoxin, Gastoxin and Phosfume.
The pesticide is used to kill rats and insects. It comes in pellet form but gives off fumes that are highly toxic.
Last January, residue from the poison was found in the truck of a man who became ill but later recovered. Investigators are trying to find out who put the poison in the man's truck.
Buying the chemical requires a license and all recent legal sales have been accounted for.
Although investigators have a suspect, more information is needed to make an arrest. Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that helps solve the case.
