Heavy rain is creating hazardous conditions along some area roadways.

Storm water forced its way through a cracked pipe under County Road 203 near Rehobeth causing drainage to wash away dirt alongside the road.

The Houston County Road and Bridge Department says heavy rains are saturating the ground making repairs impossible at this time.

They will need a few days of sunshine to fix the damage.

The road is open but motorists are urged to slow down and use caution when driving through the area.

Houston County Road and Bridge Department is looking at re-routing the run-off stream to another location.
