Four Florida counties hardest hit by tropical storm Fay have been declared major disaster areas.
The announcement by President Bush makes those areas eligible for federal aid.
The declaration comes as emergency crews across the state continue cleaning up and rescuing residents from the week long storm.
In Tallahassee, in the Timber lake neighborhood about sixty residents had to be evacuated.
Leon County officials say the neighborhood is completely without power and transportation is being provided by boat from the area.
