Crews have been working around the clock to get the Elba water system fully functional.
Since Tuesday, the water appeared cloudy for several city residents and for customers in nearby Shiloh.
The public works department spent the day using an alternate well to supply water for those in the affected area.
Initially, water and electric board officials notified customers not to drink or wash clothes until further notice.
A problem with the water from the Pea River, east toward Enterprise, was making it appear cloudy.
Until the problem is corrected, Elba customers are urged to use water sparingly.
