Dothan's republican mayor, Pat Thomas, is swinging his support toward Montgomery Mayor Bobby Bright for the 2nd congressional district seat.

Mayor Thomas made a public announcement this morning at the Wiregrass Veterans Park that he will be endorsing Bobby Bright and his commitments to the Wiregrass area.

Bright says history was made today by both mayors coming together to cross party lines.

Bright says, "We're committed to the good people of this district to work hard, to protect our military Bases, to support out local farmers, and not let them down and we're going to do that and you're going to be happy and pleased about our representation when we go to Washington."

Thomas says this will be the first time he is voting for a democrat on the national level.
