City and County Seek Funding For New Emergency Operations Center

The first conceptual drawings for a proposed new emergency operations center in Dothan were released.

The City of Dothan and the Houston County E-911 Advisory Committee met Thursday to go over the first conceptual drawings for the new operations center.

The group estimates that the price of the building will be more than $9-million dollars.

The committee is attempting to secure a grant that could be used for construction.

The committee also discussed next year’s operating budget. Like many entities, they have more requests than money to cover them.
