A new restaurant & lounge hopes to provide a place for lunch, relaxing after work or on the weekends.
Dine, lounge, dance; that's the motto of District: Dothan’s soon-to-be newest restaurant lounge and nightclub
Owner Ignacio Handal said, "Our theme is an upscale lounge & restaurant for hard working Dothan citizens to finally have somewhere nice and upscale to go and relax on the weekends. And, during the day, to have a nice quick lunch, and also a place to relax and enjoy after work."
The District lounge will be the first after dark venue on Foster Street, complete with wines from around the world, acoustic, rock and jazz music, and DJs on the weekends.
"We're really concerned about safety and security. We’ve spoken to Chief Powell’s office, the city manager and Dothan City will be providing security outside. Obviously, safety is our main concern; we want this to be safe, for hard working Dothan professionals to finally have a place of their own,” adds Handal.
District will also enforce a dress code.
According to Handal, "The District will be providing a valet parking service, but if you choose not to drive, they'll have the first downtown limo service provided by Bay Limosinefor a small fee."
Kelly Thomason, co-owner of District says, "It’s been a lot of commitment, a lot of dedication, trying to get this place cleaned up to give you guys some stuff to do."
The more than 10,000 square foot venue promises an inviting atmosphere after a stressful work week.
The District ultra lounge hopes to have its grand opening the first weekend in September.
