More than a hundred athletes took part in the annual Coffee-Dale Special Olympic games Friday.
Some six-centers were represented at the event.
Several Ft. Rucker soldiers carried the torch to mark the opening of the games.
The event is made possible through the efforts of countless volunteers.
Many of them are area high school and college students.
Besides teams from Coffee and Dale counties, the Merle Wallace Learning Center from Geneva also sent a squad to compete in this year's event.
