Collins Signs has agreed to merge with Nashville-based Cummins Signs. The Dothan sign company hopes this merger will keep it out of bankruptcy court.
Collins Signs President John Collins announced the merger bid Thursday after some of its creditors went to U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Montgomery on March 4, trying to force Collins Signs into Chapter 11 bankruptcy over unpaid bills.
In December, Collins Signs laid off 100 workers.
