A fire in the Dothan City Jail caused officials to evacuate inmates early Tuesday morning.
The incident happened around 9 a.m. and was caused by an electrical system short.
Parts of Adams Street and Saint Andrews Street were blocked and a cell full of inmates had to be emptied while firefighters cleared the smoke.
There were no injuries reported and jail operations are back to normal.
