Hundreds Attended Funeral of Todd Horne

Final respects were paid Friday afternoon to a Wiregrass teacher, mentor and head football coach Todd Horne.

Hundreds gathered at Ozark Baptist Church for the coach’s funeral. Inside the sanctuary was standing room only.

Players and coaches from Skipperville, Ozark, and Daleville attended.

Many people were standing in line outside the church trying to get a glimpse of what was happening inside.

Dale County Superintendent Phillip Parker said, “It is unreal the outpouring from everywhere he touched so many people he loved people and he loved kids and in turn they show their respect for him.”

South Dale Middle School has set-up an education fund for coach Horne's two children. Colby and Cameron.

Donations can be made at any Wachovia Bank or sent to the school. Checks should be made out to: Colby and Cameron School Scholarship Fund.

Hundreds were at his funeral, but THOUSANDS came to his viewing. This man touched so many people's lives. One can only hope that they affect half as many people as he did. The world is a better place because of him. God bless his wife and two sons.
