A Haleyville pharmacist faces a federal charge of drug misbranding.
U.S Attorney Alice Martin said the case against 35-year-old Carol Emerson was filed today in u-s district court in Birmingham.
Investigators with the U.S. department of health and human services and the food and drug administration allege that Emerson dispensed a prescription drug to a patient in a strength not prescribed by a doctor after the drug had been shipped in interstate commerce.
No other information about the case was available.
Emerson, if convicted, faces a one year prison sentence and a one-thousand dollar fine.
