Knoxville Church shooting has had an effect on church members here in the Wiregrass.

News 4 went out into the community to find out how this situation is affecting local congregations:

"My prayers and my heart goes out to all of them and the members of that community and to ensure them of our prayers in the days and months ahead that the healing that is necessary- physical- emotional and spiritual will come about in their own hearts and whole congregation," said Father Patrick Gallagher with St. Columba Church.

"It is just difficult to thin about what would be the appropriate security to have that is going to make everyone feel welcomed,” said Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi with Archdiocese of Mobile. “It is a real dilemma for churches."

Pastor Gallagher of St. Columba Church in Dothan also says that though this type of situation has never crossed his mind, it’s something all churches should be alerted about.
