A hero of the Vietnam War will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.
Michael J. Novosel Senior died peacefully in his sleep Sunday at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington following a long battle with cancer.
He was awarded the nation's highest commendation for valor, the Congressional Medal of Honor, for saving the lives of 29 soldiers during a single mission in 1969. Novosel was 83 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Patterson-Sorrells funeral home in Enterprise.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
A memorial ceremony will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. at the U.S. Army Aviation Museum on Ft. Rucker.
