The city of Marianna wants to hear from residents about a possible fee increase for services.
They’re holding a workshop for residents to attend and give their opinions.
Currently, residents pay monthly fees of $1.00 for fire service and $2.00 for trash removal.
City leaders are reviewing the fees to determine if they cover the level of service required.
Rising expenses and less money from tax revenue are putting a crunch in the budget.
Marianna City Manager Jim Dean said, “There are limited funds coming from the state of Florida to help municipalities across the state. So, we have to go back and review the cost of these programs and the revenue to generate that service.”
The workshop will be held Wednesday, July 16th, at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
