U.S. Senator Richard Shelby announced Tuesday that the Federal Aviation Administration has released more than $1 million to the Dothan Houston County Airport Authority for Dothan Regional Airport.
The airport will receive over $1 million to help with upgrades to the facility.
This funding will allow the airport to purchase land to extend the runway safety area, improving safety for both pilots and passengers.
These funds will also be used to mark and light the parallel taxiway, which will allow the airport to meet FAA requirements.
