It took less than two hours to 12 member Geneva County jury to found not guilty for Wichsburgh man charged with manslaughter on Wednesday afternoon.
On June 14th 2004, Fred Wesley Clearman was driving an SUV when he struck and killed Willie Frank Hunter.
The state claims Clearman was speeding and acted recklessly when he fatally struck the 67-year-old along Third Avenue in Hartford.
However, the defense says it was a horrible accident and there was no criminal intent.
On the night of the accident, the 36-year-old defendant had consented to a breath analysis. The test indicated "no" presence of alcohol.
Clearman is free of criminal charges.
