Sunday morning, Jackson County authorities discovered the body of a missing Georgia woman near a river.
Police said late Saturday afternoon, 63-year-old Edith Barbara Freeman of Colquitt, Georgia was dropped off by friends at Neal's Landing. Neal's Landing is located in the Northwest corner of Jackson County on the Florida-Georgia border.
The woman was reported missing when she didn't return home Saturday night.
Jackson County Sheriff's investigators do not suspect foul play. They believe she may have slipped on a steep embankment and drowned in the river.
An autopsy is being conducted in Panama City to confirm the cause of death.
