Wanted: Alabama State Troopers

Alabama needs more state troopers. There are nearly 300 vacancies on the Alabama State Troopers staff and the Alabama Department of Public Safety is making an all-out push to fill those positions.

The job pays $26,000 to $42,000 annually depending on educational background. Applicants must be at least 21 years old. They are also required to take 21 weeks of training at the academy in Selma.

To apply for a position as an Alabama State Trooper, forms are available at the Dothan Trooper Office on Montgomery Highway or at the Alabama Employment Service.

Applications must be sent to the State Personnel Department, the deadline is Tuesday, March 11.
