The George Andrews lock on the Chattahoochee River near Columbia will soon no longer be providing 24 hour service.
The lock will operate on a new schedule of from 8 am till 4 pm starting this Sunday.
The change means all three locks on the Chattahoochee River, including woodruff lock at Lake Seminole and George lock at Lake Eufaula, will operate the same hours.
Commercial traffic will be served at anytime, but arrangements must be made in advance during regular business hours.
Recreational traffic should arrive no later than 30 minutes before the end of the business day.
The lock will operate on a summer schedule from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
