Three students are facing felony charges that allege they set off an acid bomb at Fort Lauderdale school on Tuesday morning.
The two liter plastic bottle filled with sulfuric acid bottle bomb was set off in a crowed school courtyard. No injuries have been reported.
Police say the incident is not just a prank. They say the acid could have caused serious burns on the children.
"We have some students that have come forward and given us the indication that they were aware of this incident prior to,” said Detective Kathy Collins.
The arrested students are between twelve and fifteen years old. Police say they could face felony charges.
Officials believe the students may have planned the bomb to disrupt FCAT tests underway Tuesday morning in Florida schools.
