Legislation would allow Houston County voters to legalize the sale of draft beer will be up for a key vote in Montgomery Tuesday.
Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver says the measure will be considered in the House of Representatives.
If the lower chamber approves it then heads to the Senate.
Even if the Senate approves the bill, Houston County voters will ultimately decide on draft beer sales in the June primary or wait until the November general election.
"We’ll be watching that closely and again that key date to watch is if it passes April 6, I believe we'll get it on the ballot in June. If it passes on that last day, I think it would be difficult,” said Cluver.
If Houston County residents approve draft beer sales, each city will then have to decide whether to allow the sales within their corporate limits.
