The state is investigating a shooting by officers in Panama City that left a suspect wounded.
It happened Friday night near the intersection of 9th Street and Sherman Avenue.
Panama City police officers and Bay County sheriff's deputies were running an undercover investigation.
They say 22-year-old Ronnie Johnson took off in a car when officers tried to arrest him in a drug deal. Johnson was wounded when officers opened fire.
He’s listed in critical but stable condition at a Panama City hospital.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the incident. Results from the investigation will be turned over to the state attorney's office.
