Starting a business is no easy task, no matter how small it is, but the good news is there are people willing to help, like at the Mixon business center incubator to turn ideas into a success.
"We provide space, affordable space for someone that's just getting started” says facilities supervisor Devon Turkoski. “The utilities are paid here we have a fax machine copy machine front desk receptionist."
The amenities offered by incubators like that at the Mixon Center can make far fetched goals a possibility
“We wanted to grow as a business, and instead of a trunk slamming business we wanted to be legit,” says Rusty Bell with Capstone Construction.
Bell and his partner started capstone construction here at the business center and they don't know how it could have been possible going at it alone.
“Just for the cost of renting the equipment copier, faxes, cost of office furniture… I am just talking about low budget it would have been rough," said Bell.
Businesses like Wiregrass United Way 211 say without the people at Mixon there is no way that they could have eventually moved into their own office.
"When I started with Wiregrass United Way 211 in January...I didn't even contemplate that here we are in July and that we'd be in our own space," said David Duke with Wiregrass United Way.
There are currently two out of the eleven offices available to a small business owner and as workers say come in with an idea and you could eventually leave with a business.
