Alabama's state schools superintendent visited several Dothan-area schools, encouraging students to read.
Dr. Joe Morton read a Doctor Seuss book to kindergarteners at Hidden Lake Elementary School and also spoke with the entire student body.
A bill is going through the state legislature that will add five more days to the end of the regular school year. Dr. Morton believes if the bill passes, students will be encouraged to read more.
