Waffle House Accepting Plastic

The "cash only" signs soon will disappear from Waffle House, which now wants to accommodate diners who use plastic.

By the end of March, credit cards will be accepted in all of Waffle House's 713 company-owned restaurants, in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Texas.

Waffle House has only accepted cash since opening its first restaurant in 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia.

The company decided to allow credit cards after many customers requested it, saying they no longer carried much cash.
