Coffee County authorities say a fatal house fire over the weekend has been ruled accidental.
Late Friday night, neighbors reported flames coming from a one bedroom, wood frame home on Gilman Street in Kinston.
Kinston volunteer firefighters along with emergency responders from neighboring Geneva County arrived on the scene, but weren’t able to get to 93-year-old Wilson Coon.
Coon was wheelchair bond, and authorities found his body in the hallway of the home, a few feet from the back door.
Authorities believe the fire accidentally started in the kitchen.
