Grains for Your Heart

Scientists say one way patients with Type 2 diabetes can reduce their risk of heart disease is by loading up on whole grains.

A new study found whole grains, bran and cereal fiber help women with the diabetes cut their risk of heart disease.

The study also found foods with low glycemic components such as beans, grapefruit, apples and tomatoes may help curb early signs of heart trouble.

The authors of the study recommend women with Type 2 diabetes eat those foods along with more whole grain bread and cereal.
