Support for War

Public support for military action against Iraq is still strong.

But a new poll shows some people are starting to think the U.S. doesn't have enough international support for war.

The Pew Research Center found 57 percent of Americans surveyed think the U.S. should get a second UN resolution before striking Iraq. About the same amount said the nation doesn't have enough international support for such an attack.

Officials at the research center said reports by weapons inspectors and overseas peace protests have affected public opinion.
