The department lowered an $11,000 penalty to just under four-thousand for sewer violations.
This followed an extensive lobbying effort by enterprise mayor kenneth boswell and the coffee county state legislative delegation.
Shortly after enterprise was fined last summer, the city council approved a residential and business rate hike to help cover the several million dollar sewer upgrade.
Local officials didn't feel they should face a high penalty cost since they took immediate action to correct the problem.
