A 12-year-old girl continues her recovery in a Dothan hospital after getting caught in the crossfire of a road rage incident over the weekend.
Dothan police say that while not all road rage injuries are this severe, several forms of irate driving are becoming a daily occurrence. With more drivers on the roads, it now takes more time to get from point A to point B. And this has some drivers outraged.
Driving frustrations are on the rise in the Wiregrass with the increasing amount of motorists on the roads. An angry driver will do anything from honking their horn to making obscene gestures and even picking a fight with the driver of the other car.
Anyone who feels threatened by another driver should remain calm. Also, get a description of the person and the vehicle they're driving. Then call the police.
While some think horn honking, obscene gestures and picking fights will get them ahead in traffic, it may only get them in trouble with the law. Dothan police use charges such as "reckless," "aggressive" or "careless driving" on those who display road rage. These charges could cost you hundreds of dollars in fines and up to 90 days in jail.
