Congress Approves Supplemental Defense Bill

Congress has approved a supplemental defense bill that will send millions of dollars to the Wiregrass area.

Nearly half a billion dollars was approved for Hellfire and Javelin missiles that are produced at the Lockheed Martin plant in Troy.

More than 250 million dollars was also approved for unmanned aerial vehicles at Fort Rucker and Redstone arsenal.

The supplemental appropriation also includes more than 400 million dollars for additional Blackhawk, Apache and Chinook helicopters.

The bill goes to President Bush for his signature.
