Downtown Dothan is just weeks away from the beginning of its first mural for women. The "Women of the Wiregrass" project is a dedication to the women of Dothan and their overall impact on society.
Artist Cheryl Hardin's design was chosen by the Downtown Group last year. The design shows women who are soldiers and teachers, as well as beauty queens.
Hardin has done other projects for the city of Dothan, but she said the "Women in the Wiregrass" project is special.
The mural painting is scheduled to begin in March, weather permitting.
