Gas Prices Rising

In case you haven't noticed, gas prices are up. Way up.

In just two weeks, average gas prices have jumped 11 cents. The national average is now $1.60 a gallon. Here in the Wiregrass, a gallon of regular averages $1.56. Premium costs on average $1.78 a gallon.

An oil production strike in Venezuela and renewed tensions with Iraq have caused crude oil prices to soar.

But there could be light at the end of the tunnel.

Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg said prices should hold steady in the
coming weeks, due to increased production in Venezuela, warmer weather in the
east and seasonal reductions in the demand for crude oil.
