Wiregrass Town Gets Revitalization Grant

Alabama Gov. Bob Riley has awarded $40,000 to the city of Elba.

The money is being used to help revitalize the city's business district, and to give the downtown area a facelift.

Project managers will focus improving city streets, sidewalks and parking areas.
City officials said the makeover will help make Elba more attractive to potential business interests.

Riley awarded the grant from funds made available through the community development block grant program by way of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
