The 50-year-old Milwaukee motorist who was brutally beaten by a mob Monday night is getting better.
Samuel McClain is no longer listed in critical condition and has been able to talk to police. McClain was pulled out of his car and savagely attacked by a group of about 15 young people after he honked at them because they were standing in the street. Police have made no arrests yet but are questioning a number of witnesses and possible suspects.
In a statement, McClain's wife calls the beating senseless. She says he's a good father and wouldn't have done anything to provoke the attackers.
Some witnesses have been reluctant to talk to police, but Mayor Tom Barrett insists, "This is not typical of the city of Milwaukee,"
