A Florida teen who went to Iraq on his own is apparently growing weary of the attention it brought him.
Farris Hassan (FAH'-rihs hah-SAHN') was a no-show at his news
conference he called to explain his journey to Iraq.
The 16-year-old promised to face reporters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to answer questions about why he traveled to Iraq last month without his parents knowledge.
But instead, Hassan's sister, Shehnaz, read a statement in which her brother thanked everyone who was concerned about his safety. The statement also said that everything's been said that can be said.
Besides being in trouble with his parents, Hassan will also be punished by his exclusive prep school, where he skipped a week of classes.
