A woman is in serious condition after her vehicle apparently struck the back of a farm tractor Thursday afternoon.
The accident happened about a mile inside Headland city limits on Highway 431 in the southbound lane.
A woman driving a van reportedly struck the back-wheel of a farm tractor
Mutual aid was called in from Dothan and emergency responders used the Jaws of Life to remove the woman who was pinned under the steering wheel.
"Headland was doing a great job when we arrived but there was extensive damage to the vehicle some of our equipment is bigger and heavier so we were able to spread the dash from equipment we had. This is good for mutual aid assistance," said Capt. Adrian Thomas with Dothan Fire Department.
Rescue workers on the scene say the victim suffered a possible broken knee and dislocated hip.
She is currently at Flowers Hospital.
