Members of the Dothan-Houston County Substance Abuse Partnership is urging parents to lock up their liquor.
They were handing out locks and information at the Southside Wal-Mart in Dothan to warn parents about the dangers of underage drinking.
Every day thousands of children have their first alcoholic drink, and it usually comes from the home.
"Parents don't think about the fact that a beer in the fridge is tempting to an adolescent who has already been thinking about drinking so even beer and wine coolers needs to be taken into account if you have a child in the home," said Beth Ford with Dothan-Houston Co. Substance Abuse Partnership.
Prescription drugs and tobacco should also be kept out of children's reach.
