Dangerous Rip Currents on Panama City Beach

Emergency responders have made more than a dozen rescues along Florida’s Gulf Coast in the last 24-hours.

Double-red flags are flying warning swimmers to a potentially lethal combination.

The Bay County Sheriff's helicopter hovers over another swimmer overcome by the strong undertow and rip-tides.

Since Thursday afternoon, the Bay County Sheriff's department and Beach Patrol has been working around the clock, desperately trying to get people to abide by the double-red flag warning.

If a double-red flag is flying, the water is closed for swimming.

Sergeant Tony Walker hopes the undertow; rip-tide combination will subside by Sunday and beach goers need to stay abreast of the flag warning system.
