Coffee County Commissioner Wins Sixth Term

Robert Stephens was elected to his sixth consecutive term as District-3 Coffee County commissioner.

At the age of 85, he is one of the oldest elected officials in Alabama.

The Elba native was a World War II Army Air Corp B-17 bomber pilot. He flew numerous missions over occupied France and Nazi Germany.

He says those days were tough, but working for the people is very rewarding.

Stephens said he hasn't ruled out a run for a seventh term in office.
