Coffee County Jailer Indicted for Sexual Misconduct

A Coffee County jailer is out on bond after being indicted for sexual misconduct on Saturday.

The charges allege former jailer Matthew Ellis had sexual contact with a 23-year-old inmate.

Coffee County District Attorney Gary McAliley said says the sexual incidences happened on more than one occasion in the inmate’s cell.

Ellis is out of the Coffee County Jail on $10,000 bond.
