UNDATED, Ala. (AP) - The gasoline price record keeps getting broken with each passing day.
AAA Alabama reports the statewide average for regular jumped another half-cent overnight to almost $3.85 a gallon. Midgrade fuel was up a full penny to $4.11, while premium averaged $4.23 a gallon.
Diesel remains costly, AAA said the average price rose one cent to $4.68 a gallon.
The auto club said Birmingham reported the cheapest average for regular at $3.83 - the most expensive was found in Mobile at $3.88 a gallon.
The national average for a gallon of regular is a record $3.95. It's jumped 35 cents in the past month and is 76-cents-a-gallon higher than a year ago.
