The Chinese Student Association at Troy University held a prayer service and fundraiser Wednesday in Troy.
CSA members at Troy along with the mayor and other members of the community joined together to remember those lost from the devastating earthquake in China.
Troy has nearly 300 Chinese students; no current or former students were injured or dead following the earthquake thus far.
CSA members have raiser more than $2,000 so far in fundraising and hope to reach more than $4,000.
Dr. Jack Hawkins Jr. with Troy University said, “The grieving process is not complete for many it's just begun and some things just cannot be understood. It's far greater that our minds can comprehend."

The money will go to the International Red Cross to help those affected in China.
