Barbeque cooks from across the south came to participate in the event at the peanut festival fairgrounds.
There were two competitions, the backyard division and the professional division.
Visitors across the wiregrass came to Dothan just for the event. Those who attended the event were able to vote for the winners.
The grand champion takes home $2,000.
Lydia Martinez, a California resident, said " it's the first time we've ever done this, so its neat, its really neat, good Barbeque."
Sponsors for the event include Century Tel and Wiregrass Electric Cooperative.
