One American has been shot dead and another wounded by gunmen who opened fire on a highway near the military outpost North of Kuwait City where some 17,000 troops are based.
A spokesman said the victims were civilian contractors working for the U.S. Military. The two Americans were in a land cruiser coming from the direction of the military camp when the incident occurred.
The person killed was believed the passenger in the car. The other is suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to the Kuwaiti Army Hospital.
The gunmen were reported to be hiding behind bushes near the road. Police have sealed off the area and are searching for them.
