Today, more than 400 women from throughout 100-mile radius of Enterprise took part in the 6th Annual Coffee County Breast Cancer and Women's Health Issue Forum.
Several cancer experts spoke to the group on a number of topics, including the latest facts about the link between nutrition and cancer, information on breast, ovarian and colon cancer diagnosis and treatment.
The Enterprise event has now been patterned by several organizations across Alabama.
Avon Foundation Community Educator, Lucille Latham, says the cure rate of breast cancer is now over 90 percent and the key is catching the disease early.
Latham presented Enterprise surgeon, Dr. Sam Sawyer, with a plaque of appreciation.
Dr. Sawyer spends countless hours speaking to groups and organizations about the warning signs of cancer, and the treatment alternatives.
