Samson Teacher in Court

Judy Hudson surrendered at the Geneva County Sheriff's Department Monday accompanied by her lawyer.

She is facing several charges including possession of a deadly weapon on a school campus, reckless endangerment, and having a gun without a permit.

Hudson reportedly pulled out a handgun in the parking lot of Samson High School last month, she was arrested a few hours later after a short standoff with authorities.

Geneva County School Supt., David Snell, told News 4 Monday that Mrs. Hudson will remain on administrative leave with pay, pending a hearing before the school board.

Snell also says the 45-year-old teacher is not allowed on school grounds without his written permission.

A substitute teacher is now handling Mrs. Hudson's duties at Samson Elementary, she remains "free" under a $20,000 bond.
