Northwest Airlines joined Delta in filing for chapter eleven bankruptcy protection.
The two filings have put three of the four nation’s largest airlines in bankruptcy court. By the looks of the lines at Dothan Regional Airport, you wouldn't even know one of the nation’s largest airlines in under a new bankruptcy status.
All the flights out of Dothan connect to Delta in Atlanta, but Dothan airport officials say it won't affect fares or service.
A devoted Delta passenger, Dennis Thorp is flying Delta to Baltimore. He thinks chapter eleven will help them realign as a stronger airline.
Mike Saunders is heading to Laredo, Texas to go duck hunting with the boys. They weren't surprised by Delta's news and say it won't stop them from flying the red white and blue.
Delta says the logo, service, and airfares will remain the same, and no flights will be cancelled due to the chapter eleven.
Northwest Airlines also says they will continue normal operations and honor purchased tickets.
