Prison Escape

MONTGOMERY - An Alabama inmate who escaped an Elmore prison this week is still at large, while an inmate who fled a work release center yesterday was captured a mile away just hours after his escape. A third inmate who fled this week was shot dead by Georgia authorities. Authorities are searching for Carl Brad Ward who fled Wednesday afternoon from a warehouse outside of the Elmore Correctional Facility in an employee's gold 2001 Mitsubishi 3000 G.T.

Ward was working under supervision in a warehouse between Elmore and Draper prisons. Kenneth Holifield was tracked down and arrested yesteray evening in the woods about a mile from the Decatur Community Work Center in Morgan County, where he escaped about 3:30pm.

Ricky Neal Taylor fled the Alexander City Work Release Center Tuesday. He was tracked down in Cobb County, Georgia, where he was shot dead by authorities after holing up in a motel room and announcing he was armed and dangerous.
